The Churches of NorthEast LA present Peace in the NorthEast Community March and Resource Fair
GATHER: AUGUST 16, 2008, 10 pm at Highland Park Adult Senior Citizen Center, 6152 N Figueroa with march at 11 am to Victory Outreach Eagle Rock, 4160 Eagle Rock Blvd
RESOURCE FAIR: 1pm – 5pm
Snacks * Bottled Water * Music * Mini Car Show
Community groups, families, businesses and other local organizations are encouraged to join the march and bring organizational / identificational banners.
This march is being held in response to the violence in the streets of NorthEast LA, the crimes against the person, such as shootings / drive-bys /robberies/ assaults / rapes / batteries.
Summer is the time when street crimes escalate and so we are taking to the streets to march and declare: Peace in the NorthEast: Stop the Violence.
This event is supported by the Churches of NorthEast Los Angeles / CD 14 / CD 1 / CD 13 and the Mayor's Office. Other community organizations currently on board are the Historic Highland Park NC, the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Highland Park Kiwanis and Peace over Violence.
