Join East L.A. Classic Theatre's supporters at our 2nd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament and Comedy Concert starring Carlos Mencia and honoring Cheech Marin.

This fundraising event will support our groundbreaking Language in Play program in critically challenged school districts throughout Southern California. Developed by the East L.A. Classic Theatre as a culturally sensitive and holistic approach to learning, it uses theatrical techniques to enhance language acquisition, literacy, and self-empowerment for our most marginalized and under-performing youth.

East L.A. Classic Theatre is the nation's only Latino based Theater Company that offers professionally performed Shakespeare adapted for youth in underserved communities of color. ECT also offers comprehensive educational programming that exposes youth to theatre arts in a fun, contemporary, and interactive manner. With more than 14 years experience, ECT's unique approach improves students' reading and verbal skills, writing ability, classroom participation and comportment, as well as their overall self-confidence. East L.A. Classic Theatre encourages students to be active learners who develop an appreciation of the arts while discovering the power of self expression, creativity, and a determination to succeed. ECT's programming and productions have reached over 300,000 Southern California youth.
