The three-day festival promises to be the city's hottest and most popular Memorial Day weekend celebration by bringing together the best in Latin music, TV, sports, food and overall entertainment for an unforgettable fiesta from May 26-28, 2012. The "LA En Vivo Block Party" will host a variety of exciting free activities at Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE from 3 pm until 7 pm all weekend long, featuring live musical performances, boxing exhibition matches, and a variety of meet 'n greets with athletes and boxers from Golden Boy Boxing and members of the LA Kings and LA Galaxy teams.
A variety of food stands will also be on-site offering a wide array of delicious treats for the whole family. All pre-concert entertainment and events occurring in Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE are free and open to the public. Guests interested in attending the scheduled concerts at Nokia Theatre L.A. Festivities are set to kick off on Saturday, May 26 at 3:00pm in Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE where attendees will be able to enjoy FREE live music from Los Canarios de Michoacán, DJ sets by Rockola's DJ El Burro, an appearance from Que Buena's El Carnalillo, and other fun surprises.
Things will really heat up with a special ticketed performance by the renowned Norteño ensemble, Julion Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda at 8pm at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets early for this exciting show. Closing out the night will be Que Buena Radio's After Party with special guest El Coyote happening later that evening at Club Nokia. The celebration continues with more free events on Sunday, May 27 from 3pm until 7pm. Special scheduled activities for the day include delightful song and dance numbers from winners of Univision TV's breakout child reality talent show, Pequeños Gigantes, and performances from Latin R&B sensation Frankie J and LA's genre-bending band, Upground. Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE will once again come to life at 8pm when ticketholders will be able to catch an explosive performance from reggaeton superstar, Don Omar. The Conga Room is set to host the after party for those looking to keep the night alive.
The festival will reach its climax on Monday, May 28 when guests will have an opportunity to enter to win tickets to Super Estrella Radio's private preview screening of international superstar Juanes' highly-anticipated MTV Unplugged project at Club Nokia. The celebration will end on a major high note with a rare, exclusive LIVE performance from the Colombian rocker himself at this invite-only event!
