11:00 to 1:00 - Orquesta Charangoa - In a time when Salsa, Cuban Son and different types of rhythms are continuing to evolve, Orquesta Charangoa has been keeping the flame of authentic Cuban Charanga alive with their traditional Charanga orchestra.
1:00 to 2:00 - Salsa Dance Showcase - Featuring performances from Salsa Caliente, Reyes de la Rumba, Ladies in Heels, and the winning couples from the Sugar Beets Salsa Dance Competition!
2:00 to 4:00 - Johnny Polanco y Su Conjunto Amistad - Johnny Polanco creates the type of contagious L.A.-style Latin music appreciated by salsa dancers worldwide. With nearly 35 years of professional musicianship, Polanco plays 13 different instruments including the tres & cuatro guitar, trombone, vibes and many more. He has performed, toured or recorded with such greats as Prince, Cachao, Johnny Pacheco, Tito Puente and others.
4:45 to 6:45 - Angel Lebron Y Su Sabor Latino - This 14-piece band plays the best in NYC Classic Street Latin/Salsa Music in the West Coast. Their contagious energy brings back the Latin big-band sound of classic big-city nightclub performances of the 60's and 70's.
SUNDAY - JULY 29
11:00 to 1:00 - Fito Reinoso y su Ritmo y Armonia
Hailing from the Bay area, Fito Reinoso is the only Cuban-born based sonero in that area performing a variety of styles from the most recent urban Harvana grooves to "timba" to the classic son and cha-cha-cha, all with a voice reminiscent of the late and beloved legendary Cuban singer, Beny More.
1:00 to 2:00 - Dancing with Our Community Stars - Dance Contest & Charity Fundraiser
Eight community stars are paired up with professional salsersos to raise money for local charities. It's the HOTTEST dance contest of the year. 2:00 to 4:00
2:00 to 4:00 - Janeen Puente Orchestra
Bringing together some of the West Coast's finest musicians, and under the leadership of Janeen Puente, granddaughter of the late legendary Tito Puente, and Eddie Del Rios, band leader and congero, The Janeen Puente Orchestra is captivating the salsa scene.
4:45 to 6:45 - Orquesta Tabaco y Ron - Orquesta Tabaco y Ron is an exciting "big-band" orchestra whose high-energy, hard-edged brand of salsa music is the perfect way to close the Festival. Featuring talented band leader, producer and pianist Hector Manuel Rivera, and captivating lead vocalist Martin Padilla, Orquesta Tabaco y Ron appeals to devoted salsa dancers worldwide and recalls the salsa sounds of generations past.
From the 101 Traveling SOUTH:
If you're coming from the Santa Barbara area, exit Victoria Avenue in Ventura. Turn left after you exit, and then make a quick right onto Victoria Avenue. Travel south on Victoria several miles towards Oxnard. Turn left on Fifth Street, heading towards downtown. The Festival is located at the intersection of Fifth & "C" Streets. Free parking is available throughout the downtown area.
From the 101 Traveling NORTH:
If you're coming from the Los Angeles area, exit Rose Avenue and turn left, over the freeway. Go south two miles to Fifth Street, where you will turn right. Take Fifth Street into downtown Oxnard. The Festival is located at the intersection of Fifth & "A" Streets. Free Parking is available throughout the downtown area.
Parking spaces are available in Public Parking Lots within walking distance of the Festival. On-street parking is also available throughout the Downtown area!
