It is hard to imagine a time in the United States when Mariachi music was close to non-existent. "Viva La Tradicion" is dedicated to the history of Mariachi in Los Angeles through the eyes of Nati Cano. It's a musical account of how that tradition came from Mexico to Los Angeles and how it gained tremendous popularity through the evolution and advancement of Mariachi Los Camperos over 50 years.
The evening displays Nati Cano's beginnings in Mexico through his establishment of L.A.'s La Fonda Restaurant, collaboration with Linda Ronstadt and massively popular touring show Fiesta Navidad.
Special guest performers Folklore Pasion Mexicana, Mariachi Tesoro de San Fernando and, of course, Los Camperos, portray the life of this charismatic musician.
