The Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series will bring the prestigious Manhattan Beach Open back in 2012 in California, Aug. 24-26. The Manhattan Beach Open kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 23 with a ceremony to honor the 2011 Manhattan Beach Open champs Jenny Kropp, Whitney Pavlik, Sean Scott and John Hyden, with the unveiling of their plaques on the Manhattan Beach Pier. More details forthcoming.
Following the ceremony, the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball Series dives into three days of action beginning with the qualifying round on Friday, Aug. 24, followed by the Main Draw event on Saturday, Aug. 25 and Finals taking place on Sunday, Aug. 26 as some of the country's best men and women professional beach volleyball players hit the sand in a double-elimination tournament. The top contenders will compete for the title, a piece of the $100,000 prize purse and the opportunity to have their names permanently enshrined on Manhattan Beach Pier's "Volleyball Walk of Fame."
Though the intensity and heart-pounding action are enough to bring you to the beach, title sponsor Jose Cuervo will fill the sand with entertainment as the Cuervo Village creates a full festival-like atmosphere featuring music, consumer contests and giveaways.
