LELA's mission is to emphasize the points of unity between the East and West; drawing on the strengths of both traditions and cultures; it continues to have a global impact for its productive work dedicated to the arts and art education.
Founder Hideo Sakata of LELA Gallery believes, "Art can bridge the cultural gap and bring people together under a shared humanity."
"Desde las Orillas" (From the Edges) presents artistic cultural, spirtual and political manifestations by Latino and Latina artists. It folds together all four corners of the City ( los Cuatro vientos) to the center bringing a new perspective on Latino and Latina art.
Art reception: 1st Saturday of September from 2-6pm.
Gallery regular hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 1-7pm
