ESCRITORES POR CUIDAD JUAREZ has designated September 1, 2012, international "Juárez Day." On this day, writers from all over the world will host poetry readings with the main purpose of bringing attention to one of the most dangerous regions in the world. As of today, the group has confirmed 131 cities, from 24 countries, and 4 different continents. In addition to critical poems about the plight of Juárez, writers are encouraged to share poems about change, hope, and promise.
