This exhibition grew out of a classroom project that Professor Sybil Venegas designed for her Chican@ Studies course on Mexican American Arts in American Culture at East Los Angeles College.
The objective was to introduce the students to the world of art, experientially while assuming the role of curators, and organizing an exhibition of Chican@ art at the Avenue 50 Studio. Participating artists include Laura Aguilar, Abel Alejandre, David Botello, Joe Bravo (work pictured), Yreina Cervantes, Ofelia Esparza, Daniel Gonzales, and Alma Lopez.
The exhibit runs until January 6.
