Latino Consultants, LLC, the nation's leading social-cause marketing firm for 17 years, will present iCoverageGuide app, the first bilingual mobile device application for health coverage program education and enrollment, at the Centers of Disease Control (CDC) National Conference on Health Communication, Marketing, and Media in Atlanta.
The presentation of the app, which is in beta form, will include the dramatic results of recent user-testing that measured cultural/linguistic competency and value to community outreach workers (Promotores).
"The research with Promotores, the actual people in the field who work with underserved and linguistically isolated groups, indicates that not only is this tool easy to use and easily accessible, it's culturally and linguistically competent," said Roberta Mancuso, P.hD., who directed the research testing. "At the same time, participants found the tool comprehensive and are eager to train with it and add it their toolbox."
- 89% of the Spanish-language preferred Community Health Workers (Promotores) had a smart device in their home and 66% had more than one
- 96% of those who never had used an app felt that the iCoverageGuide app was easy to use
- 100% said that the app was comprehensive and necessary
The app, which features the proprietary Bilingual Rotation, is based on the free, bilingual Guide to Health Programs / Guía de Programas de Salud and is scalable for hyper-local access to coverage information and enrollment tools to national programs and information. The Beta release is expected in the iPhone App Store this month and future releases are planned to include geolocation on all platforms.
The presentation is at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, 265 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA, in the Grand Hall West at 2:45 p.m.
