The Cuban Music Festival - Sociedad Jose Marti Verbena Tradicional was an exuberant celebration organized by members of Sociedad Jose Marti. The event took place on Sunday, September 23, 2012, in the parking lot that provided an ideal setting for attendees to assemble and relax and enjoy live music.
Several hundred Cubans and fans of Cuban music, food, dance and culture enjoyed the family friendly, fun-filled day. The Mayor of Hawthorne Danny Juarez, City Council members Alex Varga and Olivia Valentine was in attendance and was seen on the dance floor as well.
DJ Audigenics and the band La Charanga Cubana (pictured) provided entertainment that allowed dancers to dance to their hearts content all afternoon. Authentic Cuban cuisine and a marketplace featured Cuban clothing, jewelry, and other accessories.
