Award-winning 8 Ways Monologues Reprised at Casa 0101

After sold-out shows at Casa 0101 Theater and the Los Angeles Theater Center in 2009, "8 Ways to Say I Love My Life" will return to Casa 0101 for a three-week run Nov. 3-18 to celebrate the publication of the book by the same name. 8 Ways is a collection of monologues written by eight women and based on their lives. The "8 Ways" theater performance inspired audiences during successful runs, was named Editor's Hot Pick by LatinoLA.com and won the 2009 Imagen Award for Best Live Theatrical Production.

Performances will take place Nov. 3-18, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Special pay-what-you-can preview on Friday, Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 general admission; $17 for students and seniors; and $15 for Boyle Heights residents with I.D. Group discounts for 10 or more also available. Advance reservations are highly recommended. Theater patrons may receive a $2 discount by presenting their Metro Bus Cards at the box office. Casa 0101 is located at 2102 E. 1st St., Los Angeles 90033. For tickets, please call the box office at 323-263-7684, e-mail tickets@casa0101.org or buy online at www.casa0101.org.

8 Ways to Say I Love my Life is a co-production between Casa 0101 and the 8 Ways Group. Josefina Lopez is the artistic director of Casa 0101 and one of the eight writers. The stage production will be directed and restaged by Nancy De Los Santos Reza and produced by Bel Hernandez Castillo. Set designer is Marco DeLeon; stage manager is Mathew Sanchez; Sammy Ross is lighting designer.

Filled with the women's experiences, inspiration, personal growth, loss and love, this collection of memoirs transcends to all women. A hit with audiences and critics, the life-affirming monologues also received a glowing review in the Los Angeles Times. "Eight winning performers chart their characters' various journeys to female empowerment with passion, humor and sheer verve," F. Kathleen Foley wrote in her review.

The eight writers include Ms. Lopez ("Hungry Woman in Paris" and "Real Women Have Curves"); author Susan Orosco ("Latino Power: Seven Powers all Latinos Have Upon Which to Build an Empire"); producer and screenwriter Nancy De Los Santos Reza; Bel Hernandez Castillo (President/CEO, Latin Heat Media); motivational speaker Margo De Leon Guerra; communications specialist Laura De Anda, entrepreneur Joanna Ilizaliturri Diaz; and public health administrator Rita Mosqueda Marmolejo. The award-winning monologues will be performed by actresses Ivonne Coll ("Switched at Birth"), Kikey Castillo ("HOLA! L.A."), Yvonne DeLaRosa ("Los Americans") and Karina Noelle ("Decisions").
