Nominated for Best Regional Mexican Song of the Year for 'Ay Mi Mexico' by the Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea
Coming from a family with generations of talented mariachi musicians, Alberto Jimenez, also known as "Beto", has sustained this tradition and has continually blazed new trails in the mariachi world. Born in Mexico City, the musical director of Mariachi Divas, Alberto "Beto" Jimenez is no stranger to the Grammy's.

Since Alberto's move to Los Angeles in 2006, he has produced and arranged the music for the last seven Mariachi Divas CDs, including Asi Somos; Mi Humilde Oración, their Grammy-winning CD released June 10, 2008; Canciones de Amor, where he also won a Grammy for his work as a producer on the CD; and 10 Aniversario, released in June 2009 and nominated for another American Grammy Award; Viva La Diva which released June 2010; the CD i]Orale[/i] for nominated for yet another American Grammy Award in 2011. And the latest release Oye, was released in 2012 by Mariachi Divas.
Beto Jimenez, along with his writing partner Ismael Gallegos, is now nominated for their first Latin Grammy Award for 2012 Best Regional Mexican Song of the Year for his composition, "Ay Mi Mexico" which can be found on the Oye CD.
Beto has had the honor of accompanying internationally-acclaimed artists, such as Lola Beltran, Rocio Durcal, Aida Cuevas, Amalia Mendoza, Lucha Villa, Miguel Aceves Mejia, Vicente y Alejandro Fernandez, Luis Miguel, among others.
Alberto Jimenez also had the honor of participating in the First 10 Encuentros Internacional Del Mariachi y Charreria Festival and Conference that takes place every year in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. PBS even filmed a documentary about this festival in 2002, "Mariachi: The Spirit of Mexico", in which Alberto Jimenez was a featured singer and violinist. He has also been an instructor for several Mariachi Festivals and Conferences across the USA, including the cities of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Chula Vista, California, Wenatchee, Washington, and in Tucson, Arizona. Together with Maestro Jesus Rodriguez de Hijar, Alberto Jimenez was the musical Director of Mariachi De America where he had the honor of being the producer and musical arranger for three of Mariachi de America CDs (Volumes 1, 2 and 3).
Beto Jimenez is very busy these days. Besides writing and producing for Mariachi Divas, he also nationally released the debut album Pura Tradición by his group Mariachi Espectacular de Beto Jimenez, featuring the most popular classics in the world. Beto has also written music arrangements for upcoming movie, "Mariachi Gringo" where he not only participated as a mariachi coach for Shawn Ashmore (actor), he also played a small role as an actor himself within the movie.
The XIII Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will take place at Las Vegas' Mandalay Bay Events Center on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012,and will air live in the United States on the Univision Network from 8–11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central). This marks the fifth time that Latin music's most prestigious awards telecast will take place in Las Vegas.
Mariachi Divas will also accompanying Shaila Durcal on the LIVE Telecast portion of the show.
