Times are Changing and ChimMaya is Changing with the Times

After nine years as a retail shop that primarily sold handbags and jewelry, while simultaneously exhibiting artwork, ChimMaya has evolved into an established Los Angeles-based Art Gallery that is as much known for its exhibitions/artist as our retail items.

After the past couple of years our customer base has slowly changed, with diverse tastes that aren't necessarily interested in handbags and women's accessories . instead, their primary focus is on the changing exhibitions in our gallery and the artists we represent.

After much reflection, we've decided to reduce our inventory of handbags and women's accessories and move them into the center room of our building.

What is now our retail shop, will soon be emptied out and transformed into our newest exhibition space. This new space will become the primary home for 'Featured/Solo Artist Exhibitions'.

Once completed, visitors will immediately experience our gallery when they enter the front door. Gone will be the disconnect that sometimes happens when new visitors walk through the door expecting an art gallery and instead find women's accessories before they can make their way to the rear of our building.where our galleries are.

Over the years, we believe ChimMaya has become adept at recognizing the evolving demographics of our audience. We're confident that this new move will enable us to continue to remain in the community, while showcasing the ever-expanding artists/artisans we exhibit.

Changing trends in Art/Artists/Merchandise is inescapable, but the essence of ChimMaya is rooted in our remarkable customer base and our continued commitment to seek out, and exhibit, a talented and diverse group of artists/artisans/artworks.

As we evolve over the next couple of months, we ask you to continue to visit/patronize our space. With your continued support, we're convinced we can make the next-leap in our expanded mission/vision for ChimMaya Gallery.
