Prince Royce signed with Sony Music Entertainment, with his forthcoming Spanish-language album set for release in the Fall on Sony Music Latin and an English-language debut in the works for 2014 on RCA Records.

Daddy Yankee issued a statement negating that he had come out of the closet after an apparently fake press release where he supposedly came out and compromising photo made their way around the web last week.

LAMC (Latin Alternative Music Conference) announced that this year's lineup of concerts, panels and showcases will expand to include film, art, food, books and poetry. LAMC's massive free concerts will also expand to include the Bronx' Crotona Park, as well as Celebrate Brooklyn at Prospect Park and Central Park SummerStage. Draco Rosa and Man?í have joined the list of performers at the 2013 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday, April 25th on Telemundo. The two artists will perform their recent collaboration featured on Draco Rosa's new album "Vida". Other performers include Marc Anthony, Daddy Yankee, Romeo Santos, Juan Luis Guerra, Tito el Bambino, Don Omar, Gerardo Ortiz, Michel Telo and Carlos Vives.

Edgar Ramirez is slated to play the role of boxer Roberto Duran in the film "Hands of Stone", alongside Roberto De Niro.

Music Choice is celebrating the life and legacy of Selena through April 14th. MC On Demand will feature popular Selena music videos, live concert footage and behind the scenes extras in a special category entitled Haciendo un Cl?ísico On Demand.


Josh and Sharyn Hakken were jailed this week in Florida and their two children returned to the custody of their grandparents after being discovered in a boat docked in a marina in Havana, Cuba. A $400 million merger finalized last week makes Hemisphere Media Group the parent company of Cine Latino, WAPA Am?®rica, WAPA TV and Azteca Acquisition Corporation. The new company will be headquartered in Miami with Alan Sokol, chairman on WAPA and former COO of Telemundo, taking on the post of CEO of Hemisphere.

Target announced that it is partnering with Emilio Estefan and Monster to launch Sound Machine by Monster headphones that will be available exclusively at select Target stores and Target.com starting April 14th.

Univision Chairman Haim Saban reacted to a court decision supporting the launch of digital TV distributor Aereo, stating that if Aereo continues its legal success, Univision would consider converting to a subscription cable service. Saban's remarks mirrored the reaction of News Corp. president Chase Carey, who mentioned the same possibility for Fox. Saban remarked ""Simply put, we believe that Aereo is pirating broadcasters' content," said Saban. " As Chase Carey said, no broadcaster can afford to sit idly by and allow Aereo's theft to continue unchecked."
