Latino Designers Curve Niche in the Fashion World

Latino designers are breaking into the United States' competitive fashion industry with lines reinforcing their talent and identity.

Established in Chicago, Latino Fashion Week, the premier resource institution for those in the Latino Fashion Industry, is the only full week and tour created to support the talent of local, national and international Latino designers. Latino Fashion Week represents a milestone for designers looking to break into this industry.

For the first time ever, Latino Fashion Week (LFW) presents the Red Carpet Premier of "The Journey" tour on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Avalon Hollywood,1735 N. Vine Street, Los Angeles CA., 90028. Tickets can be purchased at www.latinofashionwk.com/tickets or at the door.

Doors Open: 6:00PM

VIP Reception: 6:00PM- 7:45PM

Fashion Runway Show: 8:00 PM, along with a celebrity performance by Andy Vargas, lead vocalist of SANTANA,accompanied by incredible music performances with Bryant Siono, renowned bassist. Other celebrities in attendance shall include, Doris Morgado, actress, as seen in "The Internship", Sal Velez, Jr., actor and Sasha Zacariaso, Miss Latina 2012 .

The Los Angeles designers who will be showcased include:

[b]Pineda Covalin]/b], created by Cristina Pineda and Ricardo Coval?¡n in 1995. The company started by making cuds and ties for corporates such as VW and Coca Cola, by doing this they financed their own projects. The secret of this company has been to use elements of the pre Hispanic tradition to integrate them in clothes and accessories, most of them have Huichol, Mayan and zapoteco artistic designs. Walter Mendez, one of America's next top designers. He has an eye for texture, silhouettes, and timeless style. Walter's talent was acknowledged early-on by the fashion industry, as his quality, style, and technique have put him far ahead of the competition. Xochitl Medina, USC alumni, who began her fashion career with acclaimed companies such as American Apparel and Ed Hardy before launching a women's denim line.
