Indie Pop band Kotolan is set to release their first boutique 45 vinyl record with a performance on Saturday, July 26th at the unique Arts District Flea Market located 453 Colyton St. Los Angeles, CA 90013 in the heart of the art district in Downtown, Los Angeles.
The event will run from 8pm - 12am, this is an all age's "Free" event. Enjoy drink specialty mixology cocktails, Art Pop Up by Modern Multiples, featured artist Richard Duardo, and Roial Photography featured photographer Michael Hope. Live performance by Kotolan beginning at 9:30 pm.
Their music is eclectic and rooted in 60s mod/soul and world rhythms with a heavy retro throwback feel. Side A, song title "Fate" -soul. Side B, song title "Space Machine"- afro-disco. The 45 will be released at the show and for sale online at Bandcamp and digitally on itunes.
The band is led by singer Junko Seki and trombonist/songwriter Otto Granillo, two seasoned performers with a long standing relationship in LA's diverse music scene. Their first album "La Tienda De Groove" released in 2011 showcases the bands creativity utilizing different languages and rhythms. As a result, the band has continually been invited to perform for many venues such as LACMA, Autry Museum, Levitt Pavilion, UCLA and more.
