In keeping with the Mexican tradition, Hollywood Forever will celebrate this momentous occasion with a Quincea??era party like no other.
The Quincea??era is one of the most important celebrations in Mexican culture. As such, Hollywood Forever's Dia de los Muertos 15th anniversary is no exception. Over the past 15 years, the altar displays and competition have grown to become the soul of the Dia de los Muertos festival. Every year the altars are more elaborate and more creative. Members of the community are invited to participate in this altar-making/grave decorating ritual to welcome their dearly departed to the altar setting. With over 100 altars being displayed, from traditional to contemporary, the competition for best altar is intense. Altars will be judged in three separate categories and the winner in each category will win a cash prize of $3,000.
In addition to the altar displays and competition, the Dia de los Muertos festival will have plenty of delicious food and drink, not to mention all the Dia de los Muertos arts & crafts and face painting booths providing something for everyone.
