June marks the beginning of summer and also the kick-off of Colgate's Oral Health Month. The oral care leader is partnering for the first time ever with the American Dental Association for this year's "Share More Time, Share More Smiles" campaign to engage and educate Hispanic families about the importance of proper oral care.
Data from a Colgate-Palmolive/Toluna survey of U.S. Hispanic millennial mother respondents shows that:
• 5 out of 10 moms said it's a challenge to get their children to brush their teeth
• 51% feel that they have to be creative to get their kids to brush their teeth. The top 3 methods moms report using to encourage their children are:
o Brush their teeth together as a family – 78%
o Purchasing flavored toothpaste – 61%
o Purchasing character toothbrushes – 60%
• 87% of millennial parents consider early oral care education for their children to be very important
Now through June 30, the ADA and Colgate are asking families to share more time, moments and smiles together by uploading an image of family members practicing oral hygiene. For each image posted on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and tagged with #TimeToSmile, Colgate will donate $1 to the American Dental Association's program Give Kids A Smile Foundation.
