Open Letter to My Fellow Latinos
Why I'm voting for Donald Trump

On January 18, 1977 I arrived in Los Angeles, CA with my parents, to make this our permanent home. My father was 58 years old. My parents left behind in our beloved Mexico a very successful jewelry business, an elderly father and mother, and 3 of their married children, along with a large extended family. My father was tired of the government corruption, and wanted me to have better opportunities to pursue my dreams.

Due to a couple of peso devaluations just before our trip, as well as some family issues I do not wish to discuss right now, our funds quickly ran low. My parents' knowledge of English was limited, so they both enrolled in night school to learn English, the language of their adopted country. They would have never thought of demanding any documents, official or otherwise, should be available to them in Spanish.
As our money resources started to deplete, my father took two jobs to support his family, eventually landing a security job for Mexicana Airlines.
After five years of being LEGAL residents, both my parents became proud citizens of the United States.
We never forgot where we came from; Mexico will always be a part of my proud heritage. But my parents also loved this beautiful country, and with their example, taught me to love and respect my native country, and never take for granted the opportunities and freedoms afforded here.
My parents were Conservative, which meant a love for our country, its freedom of religion, and unending opportunities to make a good life for yourself and your family, no matter the color of your skin or your family's pedigree.
I am proud to say that the first time I was eligible to vote, I voted for Ronald Reagan, who, in my opinion, was the greatest Republican president since Abraham Lincoln.
I love this country, and I hate to see what the left is doing to it. The Democratic Party has been taken over by the left. Gone are the days when being a Democrat meant you loved and respected this country and its people. I often wonder how John F. Kennedy would feel about the current state of his Party. He was the last Democratic President to say "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." Now it's all about entitlements.
It is wonderful to get free stuff. However the role of the government is not to provide the citizens with freebies. The government is supposed to keep us safe, and interfere as little as possible in our lives.
I cannot understand why the majority of Latinos continue to vote for Democrats. If you, your parents, or grandparents left their country to come here, wasn't it in search of a better life? Then, why in the world would you vote for the Party that is trying its best to turn this country into another failed regime, as those we see in all of Latin America!?! Look at what has happened to Venezuela! Look at what is happening in my beloved Mexico, a country which natural resources should have made it one of the richest countries in the world! But the corruption of the Mexican government has that country stuck as a third world nation.
Sadly, we are seeing the same, if not a greater level of corruption with the current Democratic presidential nominee. This country's laws prohibit foreign entities from making contributions to political races. How do you get around it? Very simple: just make a donation to the Clinton Foundation! If it was sizable enough, you got yourself a meeting with our Secretary of State.
Richard Nixon was forced to resign the Presidency after the Water Gate Scandal broke. What about our illustrious Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton? No other public official, particularly one with such a high level of security, has ever used a "private" server to send and receive e-mail communications. "What we discovered this week is that one of the nation's top officials created a private server that housed proof that she continued a secret, ongoing entwinement with her family foundation--despite ethics agreements--and that she destroyed public records. If that alone doesn't disqualify her for the presidency, it's hard to know what would." – Columnist Kimberley Strassel.
Mrs. Clinton walks above the law with impunity and the full support of the main stream media. Anyone else would have gone to jail for one third of what she has done. Just ask Martha Stewart.
A Hilary Clinton presidency would mean more of the decline we have been experiencing in the last 8 years, and a Supreme Court that would continue to ignore our Constitution, imposing their views on the rest of us.
Be honest. Do you really think the world is better now than 8 years ago? In this country race relations are worse now than they were in the 1950's. Obama said that racism is in our DNA. Are you serious!?! What an ignorant, offensive statement! The left and the main stream media continually ignite anger and a thirst for revenge in the black community, accusing the police of being trigger happy when it comes to people of color. As a result, police officers have been ambushed and murdered.
Terrorists attacks are almost an everyday occurrence in the world now, while the current administration refuses to call it what it is, instead referring to terrorists as insurgents, or work place attacks. When a terrorist murders innocent people while yelling "Allahu Akbar" we're told we should not rush to judgement, but when a police officer, even a black police officer, shoots a black perpetrator, he is immediately judged a trigger happy bigot!
Our freedom of speech and our freedom of religion are in danger. People have literally lost their businesses for refusing to participate in ceremonies that are contrary to their religious beliefs!
Our children are being indoctrinated in school. I just read an article about a five year old transgender! How in the world does a 5 year old now anything about gender!?!
God has been kicked out of our schools, and people are even afraid to say "Merry Christmas" in case someone should be offended. Political correctness is running amok! We're raising a generation of sissies, who find offense in anything contrary to their own views.
Do you really want to continue on this path? If a socialist, corrupt government is what you want, perhaps you should go back to the country you or your ancestors left in Latin America.
For the 10,867 time, I do not like Donald Trump. He was my last choice for the Republican nomination. However, he is the nominee, and for the reasons I've stated, I know I must vote for him.
I have heard all the stupid comments he has made, and by the way, the stupid comments come from both sides, such as when VP Joe Biden told black people that Republicans wanted to put them back in chains; or when he recently said, in front of Mrs. Clinton, that Donald Trump would have loved Stalin. What about when Madeline Allbright said "There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women." Yes, the stupid comments run both ways; but you would never know it, because they are almost never reported. But as much as I dislike Mr. Trump's personality, I do not think he is an evil man. I also believe he loves this country as much as I do, and he will not sell it to the best bidder.
I fully understand that my opinion will alienate some people. Some folks will "un-friend" me on Face Book; as an actress, I will probably lose work – in Hollywood people will forgive almost any sin, except the sin of being Conservative.
Mrs. Clinton wants you to "be with her." I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America!
In case it's not abundantly clear, I love Mexico! I am deeply grateful to the land that welcomed my ancestors and let them flourish back in the 19th century.
That said, I know Mexico can survive with a wall. I'm not sure we can survive another four years of a leftist regime.
