LBI Radio recently launched a very interesting "Radio Novela" like in the old days (brining back the drama radio serials of yesteryear, i.e. The Green Hornet, The Lone Ranger), a radio series based loosely on a narco series but with a comedic twist called "El Señor de los Aguacates" (Lord of the Avocados) with our #1 morning radio personality Don Cheto, a play on words of the original title of a narco series titled "Señor de los Cielos" (Lord of the Skies).
The Radio Novela will air Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8AM on Don Cheto Radio Network, and is comprised of ten episodes. In Los Angeles you can listen to it on KBUE-FM, La Que Buena.
A radionovela (also known as serial radiofónico or simply serial) is a type of radio drama first broadcast in Latin America in the early 20th century. Radionovelas are typically melodramas or soap operas, which are issued in chapters, in contrast to other radio dramas which may encompass different genres and are often broadcast as individual works.
