Antigua Bread Bakery and Caf?® is nice neighborhood place to have coffee or a coffee drink, some pastry, lunch or even dinner. For me, it's a casual place to be by yourself and work the computer off their free wi-fi or to meet someone.
I like their iced coffee, because I get add as many packs of raw sugar as I want and pour in the half and half until it looks like a white russian (drink). The orange juice is fresh. Breakfast dishes are good. The torta de carne asada is a bit salty but tasty. It comes with fries. My daughter has had their chicken breast sandwich. They also have breakfast burritos, croissant sandwiches, regular sandwiches, burgers and fries. I've had some of the pastries. What I don't eat there, I bag up and save for a late night treat at home.
The patio faces Figueroa, which is kind of noisy with the bus stop right in front and lots of traffic, but it's a great place to people watch. I also like the diversity of the clientele, lots of neighborhood folks but also people from other parts of L.A.
The shelves with postcards, business cards, flyers, booklets and more to keep you in touch with what's going on in the community.
Not much on their website right now, but I'm sure it'll be loaded with information soon.
Here's where they're at:
