New Quincea??era Magazine Debuts in Orange County

When Luis Aguilar helped his little sister plan her quincea??era last year, he got a crash course in party planning and a case of sticker shock.

The family would likely have paid up to $1,800 for a fondant cake, Aguilar recalled, had it not scoured the city for a baker who agreed to make one for $300.

To help other families save money and connect with local vendors, Aguilar launched XV Magazine, a new, full-color magazine aimed at those planning a traditional Latin American 15th birthday party.

About 10,000 copies of the free, bilingual magazine's inaugural March edition were distributed at places people gather in Santa Ana, Anaheim, Costa Mesa and parts of Garden Grove.
