Danny Boy Padilla Benefit Concert & Dance, Sunday May 23

Dear Friends,

We humbly call your attention to the present situation of one of Southern California's most gifted and gracious musicians, Danny Boy Padilla.

He first started performing live for the masses on Olvera Street, in the 1960's, at the age of five, with the legendary Padilla Brothers Band. The Padilla Brother were first started by grandfather Don Fidel. Then led by father Daniel Sr. out of Salesian High in Boyle Heights which also included uncles Richard & Tommy.

Three generations later Daniel, Danny Boy and brother Rocky Padilla are continuing a very personal & proud tradition of entertaining and generously serving the community. Danny Boy is one the most sought after sidemen in the business: playing with the Rocky Padilla Band (pictured), New Voice, the Delfonics, Thee Mad Latins and several other top musical acts.

After recently surviving a life threatening surgical procedure, we are ecstatic to report that Danny maintains a prognosis for complete recovery. He has just completed his first round of chemotherapy with flying colors. However, now that Danny is currently at home recovering, the family is overwhelmed with the burden of addressing the tremendous hospital and surgical expenses.

With the expertise of The City Of Hope and all of your prayers he has a second chance at life. On behalf of the Padilla Family we, ask you to please join us this Sunday as we celebrate Danny Boy Padilla's recovery with musical artists that span five generations of the best Latino artists in Southern California!

Performing in this very heavy all-star lineup will be: the Rocky Padilla Band, Brenton Wood, New Voice, Pepe Marquez, RPG Entertainment featuring Hayze, Down With 3, Soto, Sangria, L. A. Mambo Combo, Stomps, Cory Silva, Europa, Rocks 211, Blizz & Jims, Thumps and Baby George. Comedian Gilbert Esquivel.

Your hosts will be Thee Mr. Duran & the Al Capone of the Microphone, Frankie Firme. Several more surprise artists are pending. The event will be graciously hosted by A Mi Hacienda Restaurant & Nightclub, 9613 Whittier Blvd., Pico Rivera, Ca. 90660 on Sunday May 23rd. 1pm to 8pm. A minimum donation of $12.00 will be required at the door. All proceeds will be directly applied to Danny's medical expenses. For more information please call Olga (626) 945-2449, Dora Mae (562)695-3436 or E-mail: olgap626@aol.com.

This star-studded event will be attended by hundreds in the community. However, in a venue as enormous as A Mi Hacienda several tickets are still available and we do not want anyone to miss out. We implore you to secure your tickets early and please wear your best dancing shoes. Chanclas will be sparking up the dance floor all night long!

We want to acknowledge sponsors Dora Mae Ballesteros & Souvenir Entertainment. Without whom this special gathering might not be possible.

We hope to see you there!
